SNAP, Spay Neuter Action Project, is a non-profit organization that offers reduced rate and low-cost spay and neuter services for low income pet owners and caretakers of feral and stray cats.
A major issue in shelters and rescue is the HUGE number of Pit Bulls and Pit mixes. It’s estimated that over 50% of dogs in shelters are either Pits or Pit mixes. To help with the issue of Pit Bull overpopulation, SNAP is holds special spay and neuter days just for Pit Bull owners throughout San Diego County in their Neuter Scooters.
SNAP’s Neuter Scooters are veterinary offices on wheels. These vehicles are fully equipped mobile spay and neuter clinics with an exceptional professional staff of veterinarians and vet technicians. The Scooters travel to low income neighborhoods where low cost spay and neuter services are most needed. The Neuter Scooters also serves as an educational resource for children and adults, providing that important information on the responsibilities of pet ownership, in both English and Spanish.
SNAP is funded through grants, private donations, and corporate sponsorships. They depend on you for donations to help us keep our pet population under control.
