Pit Bull Friendly House For Rent

This property is no longer available.  Thank you so much to our amazing network!  We showed the property to an AWESOME Pit Bull owner/rescuer yesterday and her dogs are going to love our yard!

If you are looking to rent with a Pit Bull, please call us and we can help point you in the right direction.  We recommend you try individually owned properties rather than large apartment communities due to their weight and breed restrictions.  We do know of a few larger complexes that will allow Pits, but there are not many in San Diego.

Here are some areas of San Diego that we have found to be more Pit Bull friendly: Ocean Beach, Point Loma, North Park, Normal Heights, Kensington, SDSU College Area, El Cajon, Escondido, Valley Center, Spring Valley and Imperial Beach.   We also recommend getting an insurance policy to cover your dogs and offer to list you landlord to the policy as an Additional Insured.  Feel free to give us a call so we can discuss this in more detail.

The home is in San Diego, CA 92119.

Monthly rent = $2150.  This home is available around mid to late July.

This Home Features:

–       3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms

–       FULLY ENCLOSED HUGE YARD (Our Pit Bull Bernice LOVES playing Chuck-It in the yard)

–       Large dog door leading to the yard. (Bernice weighs about 75 pounds and she can fit through it easily).

–       1200 Sq Ft.

–       1 story home

–       On a Cul-De-Sac

–       AC/Heat

–       Laminate flooring

–       2 car attached garage

My boyfriend and I are on a tight budget, and we’re looking to move out. We’re in the San Fernando Valley area, and looking for a place that will allow our Lab/pitbull mix, and we can’t find anywhere, and are very discouraged. She’s such a well behaved and loving dog and we don’t want to give her up to any shelters. Please help!

Hi, my fiance and I are looking to move out to a home together towards the begining of next year once we get married. We are both military and are not allowed to have my APBT on base. We’re near the MCAS Miramar base currently and are trying to sty relatively close to this area to get to and from work easily. I would have to have my pittie shipped here from Chicago, so it would have to be a sure thing!! He’s 2 years old and very well behaved. We’re also expecting a baby in June so the sooner we can find a place, the better!! Please help me!!!

We have a 4 month old APBT. He is just adorable. We are moving out of our current place. I’m just curious if you have any contacts in the South Bay, particularly in San Jose? We were having a difficult time looking. We were lucky enough to have our friend put us up while we look for a place or maybe to purchase a home. Just in case the purchasing of a home does not work out or living roommates, I wanted to have a back up, just in case. Please let me know if you know of any. Thank you!

Yes, I am moving to California and going to be stationed at Miramar. I have a pit mix that I have had for five years. He was a rescued dog that my cousin gave to me when I was stationed in North Carolina when I was living with him. I am currently stationed in Florida which I purchased a home in order to keep my pit mix. I will be moving to California in July with my fiance and our 5 yr old son and having difficulties finding a home that will be willing to take our dog. I was interested in a place in Temecula and called in which the property manager told me that they will not accept my dog. I was upfront about him and did let them know that he was a rescued dog and that he was a pit mix but still no luck. She advised to find private owners that may consider in taking our dog. I do not mind driving a little further from the base in order to keep our dog. Can any one advise or know where to search any private owners that will consider taking our dog. I really do not want to give him up as I have had him since he was a puppy. Please help.

I just wanted to say that what you’re doing is so wonderful, especially when it seems virtually impossible to find a home/apt home that would even allow a dog with even the slightest amount of pit in them. Like everyone else here, I have also been having trouble finding a place that would allow my Leila, she’s a lab/pit mix, a rescue from the shelter and trained with certificates of completion on her obedience training. My boyfriend and I have been looking tirelessly for place within Orange County, since both of us have work here, but have come up with nothing. I know it may be too early to look since we are moving in February of 2013, however seeing my options right now seem incredibly dim. It would be a tremendous help if you knew someone that might be able to help us find a house within budget means. Thank you.

My daughter and her boyfriend have been looking for weeks for a place to rent in San Diego. They have a lovely blue Pit, two years old, named Ruby. They are both gainfully employed as chefs/cooks at two of the best restaurants in San Diego county, with great credit, yet they cannot find one place to rent. Any help would be appreciated. August 1st is their target date and they are running out of options.

my boyfriend and I are looking for a new apartment/townhouse/condo/house in the San Fernando Valley. I have lived in the same apartments for the last 3 years, we have two very friendly blue nose pitbulls but the apartments (large complex) are giving us trouble for the at least 4th time now. Every time we have to show vet paperwork that they are not pits, this time we had to go to the office and have pictures taken and I am tired of being harrassed because there is always one neighbor complaining when the rest loves our dogs. Any help to find a new place in the Valley would be great!

I will be moving to San Diego to be with my soon to be husband and we are looking for pitbull friendly apartments, condos, townhouse, or single family home. We are not having any luck as it is right now. I will be there in mid-June and we want to be out of his apartment on the naval base and have our own place soon after that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
